About Calllock

Who is behind Calllock?

The origin of Calllock lies with the owners Mr. Ton Kooymans and Mrs. Mariska Slots.

Ton Kooymans is an industrial designer and entrepreneur who has had his own design studio for more than 20 years (till the end of February of 2008). He is known in particular for his “own products” which are found mainly in public spaces. The greatest successes are the well-known Tulip cycle shed and the safe-deposit for bicycles and roofing at NS-station (Dutch Railway stations). The latest developments in the field of “new own products” are often intelligent products. Ton Kooymans and Mariska Slots have taken an in-depth look into the possibilities of these technologies. Eventually, the idea has arisen to turn a cycle shed into an intelligent product by adding ICT-technology. Lock’n Go™  the first automated bicycle parking system that uses a Mifare card, was developed by Ton Kooymans.

Ton Kooymans and his business partner Mariska Slots have developed many products together, including a number for third parties but also a number on their own account and risk. Cooperation with Mariska Slots has lead to a spin-off project to develop the concept of Calllock. For many years Slots has managed the Industrieel ontwerpbureau (Industrial design studio) with Ton Kooymans. She was responsible for the management, financial, legal, IT and organisational side. She has been an entrepreneur for many years, supporting companies in the development and realisation of new concepts and services in the field of care and mobility. Concepts focussed on demand-driven solutions, complex solutions where helicopterview is needed, efficiency improvements and cost savings. Attention to the user or client, management, checking, IT and Back Offices are the main concerns.
